Robotronica 2017

In August 2017, robots of all shapes, sizes and abilities came, saw and conquered at Robotronica, much to the delight of 22,000 families, tech heads, and the plain curious.

The highlights included bots battling it out in the 2017 Australian Robowars Championships, international speakers Professor Ron Arkin speaking on Robots Ethics and Intimacy and Robots that Need to Mislead, Dr Sarah Jane Pell performing a mixed reality keynote The Agency of Human-Robotic Lunatics and RoboCop: Robots, Ethics, and Law Enforcement which considered the implications of remote-controlled, fully autonomous and semi-autonomous robots as law enforcers. Other attractions included Who are these robots showcasing innovations in cutting edge humanoid robotics and international exhibition Why future still needs us: AI and humanity exploring AI and creativity at QUT Art Museum.
